About Erin

For the last 15 years, I have been engaging in interesting, joyful, heartbreaking and inspiring conversations with a variety of amazing individuals of all ages. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario) and a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.  I hold an Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Education in Counselling, and have completed extensive professional development related to counselling and psychotherapeutic interventions and strategies. I am happy to share more about my education and professional development if you are interested.

I am open to seeing individuals with any concern or question, and place the greatest emphasis on creating a safe, respectful space for you.  My counselling practice has led me to particular interest in working with individuals experiencing anxiety and the resulting impacts on daily living.   Such issues as sleep deprivation, “busy mind”,  health related concerns and isolation can become overwhelming aspects of anxiety, and therapy can help us learn strategies to get out of traps that anxiety tends to catch us in.

I also hold personal interest and am excited to help individuals who may be coming up against questions related to role, life purpose and future goals. Questions such as “Am I where I want to be in my life? My kids are getting older, what do I do now? I’m unhappy in my current job. How do I make a change and what should it be?” are all great questions to bring to therapy.

My style as a therapist is light hearted and sincere. Both laughter and tears are often part of my therapy sessions. I want to know the stories you tell about yourself and who you are, and how these might be impacting how you are living your life. I strive to constantly update my knowledge and skills with research based interventions and share those with you! I have extensive experience in mindfulness and meditation and had the pleasure of spending 5 years teaching meditation and relaxation strategies to university students. I firmly believe in the benefits of being in nature and am interested in discovering ways of integrating mindfulness, meditation and nature into our everyday lives.
